CertREV operates an opt-in SMS (text message) program to deliver transactional and account-related messages to verified experts, reviewers, and account holders who choose to receive them. This page describes the program, how to enroll, and your choices. By opting in, you agree to these SMS Terms, which supplement our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
Program description
Program name: CertREV Notifications.
The CertREV SMS program sends transactional, account-related messages only to people who opt in — primarily credential-verified experts and reviewers using the CertREV platform. We do not send marketing or promotional text messages, and we never use this program for advertising.
Types of messages you may receive
- One-time passcodes and phone-verification codes for signing in or securing your account (2FA).
- Review assignment alerts when you are assigned content to review.
- Revision-ready and status updates on submissions you are involved with.
- Deadline and review reminders.
- Certification and completion notifications.
How to opt in
Enrollment is opt-in and entirely voluntary. SMS consent is never a condition of purchase or of using the CertREV platform. You enroll by adding a mobile number and checking the SMS consent box — which is unchecked by default and separate from any other consent — on your notification-settings page inside your authenticated CertREV account. We retain a record of your opt-in (date, time, and the consent shown).
A sample of the messages you may receive:
- “CertREV: Your verification code is 123456”
- “CertREV: You’ve been assigned to review ‘Magnesium and Sleep.’ Check your email for the review link. Reply STOP to unsubscribe, HELP for help.”
Message frequency
Message frequency varies and depends on your account activity — for example, how often you sign in or are assigned reviews. The program is activity-based, not a recurring or scheduled campaign.
Cost
CertREV does not charge for SMS messages. Message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile carrier and plan.
How to opt out or get help
You can cancel the SMS service at any time by texting STOP to any message you receive from us. After you send STOP, we will send a one-time confirmation and then stop sending SMS messages. You may also opt out by turning off SMS notifications in your account settings. To rejoin, opt in again from your settings.

Carriers
Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Supported carriers may change without notice.
Privacy
We do not sell, rent, or share mobile phone numbers, SMS opt-in records, or text-message content with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes. No mobile information is shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Mobile carriers may receive metadata necessary to deliver messages, and we use SMS service providers (currently Plivo) to send and receive messages on our behalf under a data-processing agreement that limits their use of your data to providing the messaging service.
